Unplug and escape to nature at this charming treehouse that is just perfect for a romantic getaway.
 
This unique rental, part of the Finca Bellavista community, boasts rich wooden features and furnishings along with plenty of cozy, rustic touches. Relax or dine out on your balconies and watch for visiting hummingbirds, toucans, and hawks. This home also features a well-equipped kitchenette and an outdoor, hot water shower. Please note this treehouse is a 30-minute hike from the car park, pack light! 

 
  • The home offers a private main bedroom with a queen sized bed.

 

  • Additional sleeping space with queen size futon can be found in the living space. 

  • The home does NOT have electricity and NO refrigeration.

  • The property is a 25 min - 30 min walk from basecamp. This is a pedestrian community only - please pack light.

  • Fila Tortuga is situated on the red trail (FBV's internal road). The road is made up of loose rock - please remember boots.

  • The home has 2 bathrooms with shower in each (main room / living space with novelty outdoor shower) - it has hot water.

  • The kitchen has a gas stovetop. 

  • Fila Tortuga has been dubbed a favorite by guests for many years as the 'honeymoon nest'.

A complimentary 3pm late check out is available for 1 night rentals. 

Home is prepared for arrival and a complimentary mid-clean is available on the 4th day of every weekly rental. Weekly rate will NOT activate if more than 2 guests are selected or less than 7 days

 

Home is prepared for arrival. This is a tenant style option where you can rent the home privately for one month (28 nights) subject to availability. The owner of Fila Tortuga requires at least 7 days prior notice to prepare the home, you will be given a contact for onsite maintenance and cleaning services. Monthly rate will NOT activate if more than 2 guests are selected or less than 28 nights.

If you would rather book through Airbnb then you can find me there. Please note however that the check in procedure is the same and I have to charge 15% more to cover Airbnb's service charge.

Your 'meet and greet' hosts, Jesus and Francis will arrange an arrival time with you and meet you at the community's private car park. From there they will escort you on foot to the home and ensure you are comfortable before leaving you to enjoy the jungle. They will be your contacts during your stay and can assist with rides, tours and services.

A Finca Fresh bag harvested the day of your arrival, courtesy of Felo Zuniga.  Felo has been growing the Finca Bellavista community's food for over 12 years. Since the closure of the property management company, he has providing food from his personal gardens. Service available to book at time of reservation. Click here for more info.

 

Additional Services: Once you have confirmed your booking, you will be put in touch with your 'meet and greet' hosts, Jesus and Francis. They can provide additional services such as setting up 3rd party excursions, taxi rides to and from the community, shuttle service and meal delivery. Meet the owner

Adam Rayfield first visited Finca Bellavista back in 2014 and dreamed of calling it home ever since. His dream became a reality as he became the new owner of Fila Tortuga in 2021. 

Born and raised in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Canada, Adam spent his childhood outdoors hiking and exploring the forests around his home.

Currently, Adam is the Head of the Physical Education Department and Sports Coordinator at an international school in Caracas, Venezuela. In his spare time, Adam enjoys hiking, camping, bird watching, scuba diving and practicing improving his nature photography skills.  

In addition to Venezuela, Adam has lived and taught in Egypt, South Korea, China, Thailand and travelled extensively around the world.  He considers the jungles at Finca Bella Vista to be the most incredible place he has explored and is excited to share his home away from home with you.
