I want to take this opportunity to firstly thank everyone for their support! The forum now has over 50 members (you can meet everyone here) and we are starting to see some healthy engagement covering a multitude of topics such as construction, renting, purchasing, volunteering and soon wildlife (see below):
I hope you don't mind me using you as an example here @Piotr, I'm very excited to have you join and can't wait to see what you post now and in the future - that goes for everyone on this website!
(FYI - Piotr is currently our closest neighbor and owns Casa Tamandua with @jen.guyton. Both of them are experts in their relative fields - Piotr Naskrecki is an entomologist, photographer and author, based in Gorongosa, Mozambique, and at the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University and Jen Guyton is an ecologist, photographer and Nat Geo Explorer plus they are both super awesome!).
I also want to take this opportunity to welcome @Greta Galubauskaitė, an official Wix forum employee who is a member of our forum (yup, we have our own in-house Wix support). If I struggle to answer any technical Wix related questions or you just want an actual straight to the point answer without my usual jibber jabber....ask Greta 😁
(N.B we are an online community living in a private establishment so those reading this who would like to view the locked categories found within the forum, please be sure to upload a pic and small bio to your profile so other members/owners/volunteers know who they are talking with and don't forget to earn your badges! - more information can be found here)
Right, to answer your question Piotr, please see below:
(similarly, to those who want to post in the forum, please select the most appropriate category from 'The Fusion Home Forum' to post your discussion or question - we can always create a subcategory or new category if your discussion outgrows its original category)
.
2. Select: 'Start a Discussion'
(if anyone just has a question regarding 'The Wildlife at FBV' then please select 'Ask a Question' and hopefully you will get a response from an actual expert but failing that, I will respond with whatever I found on Google 🤣)
Once you've selected 'Start a Discussion' or "Ask a Question' you will be able to create a post. The post will be linked to your own profile so be sure to have your bio filled out so other members know who you are and can chat with you directly about wildlife or your amazing home!
You can post pictures to the post but for videos you will need post a URL from Youtube, Vimeo or Facebook.
The post is always editable by the author (which will be you in this case) at anytime so feel free to update or change at will.
If you have any problems then be sure to send me a message. I hope your engagement and expertise will encourage others to share some of their FBV wildlife adventures - I know I will share some of mine soon!
Hi everyone! I am pleased to be introduced to you:)
I'd like you to keep in mind our Wix Forum users community (https://www.wix-forum-community.com/forum) where you can ask questions, place your wish lists regarding the forum and follow Wix Forums updates.
Being the user researcher, I focus on your feelings, expectations, goals when using the forum. I focus on the big picture - what could make this forum joyful and effective to use for both - the owner and members? :) So I am here whenever you'd like to have a short call or an email conversation. My email: gretag@wix.com
Regarding technical bugs - you can also reach out directly to me, however, I might be not as fast as the supportive Wix forum community where you will meet a major part of our devs, including me ;)
UPDATE: You can now publish videos straight from your desktop in addition to links from Facebook/Vimeo/Youtube! Hopefully this is good news for you @Piotr (and all of us who get to see your pics/videos 😁)
Sorry, still cannot post anything. I see "Get the Conversation Started. Be the first to post in this category." but there are no links to start a new thread.
I see. I just talked with devs and designers: empty states like these mean that only ADMINS can write into them. Designers will prepare new empty states designs that will make clear who can/cannot post in categories.
Hello guys, so sorry about that, I just checked and @Greta was spot on - the setting were set for admins only. I have changed it so all members can post in that category. Thanks for troubleshooting this guys - new badges coming your way! I will post an article in there today too!
The wildlife forum does not seem to like me. I have written a post and attached two small images to it. These images have been stuck at 99% upload for the last 20 minutes. I have tried to delete them and upload again but no luck. Any recommendations on how to upload pictures?
Wow, Piotr, you really are not having a good time with this 😂. I wonder if it has something to do on my side and having slow internet....I can see the pictures you are trying to post (they have been uploaded to my server - Caligo atreus x 2).
Maybe it's better now? I'm really excited to have you posting on here and don't want you to give up!

Right, to answer your question Piotr, please see below:
1. I've created a new category in the forum called: The Wildlife at FBV

@Piotr Hi, hmm. I just tried to post in an empty ''Trade for States'' category and it seems the flow is working.
1.:
2.:
Is there a different flow for you? Can you show what exactly does not work for you?
No buttons that allow to add posts.
I see. I just talked with devs and designers: empty states like these mean that only ADMINS can write into them. Designers will prepare new empty states designs that will make clear who can/cannot post in categories.
Hi Matt, turns out that I need to be an admin to make posts on the forum. Could you make me an admin for the wildlife forum?

Super, thanks!

I deleted the post and created a new one, and it worked this time. Perhaps the problem was on my end, the internet here is not the fastest, either.
Phew, I was already sending the question regarding uploads to devs, luckily it worked now :)
